The Ninety Minute Break Up In December -Part Two-

“I don’t think all writers are sad. I think it’s the other way around – all sad people write.” – Lang Leav, Sad Girls

I could feel Lisa’s eyes on me as I said the words. But she kept silent. I knew I had to drive it in.

“It’s just not working out…”

Still she was silent.

I prompted. It was redundant, but it was something that made the silence more bearable. I looked at her when I said those words and this time, Lisa avoided my eyes.

Game Of Lies

“A single lie destroys a whole reputation of integrity.” – Baltasar Gracian

When you meet someone for the first time,
Their sublime kindness draws you in.
As the days go by,
And their nature comes forth,
You realize what comes out of their mouth,
is a lie. Continue reading “Game Of Lies”

The Ninety Minute Break Up In December -Part One-

“Because at some point you have to realize that some people can stay in your heart but not in your life and this is my way of keeping you in my heart.” – Sandi Lynn, Forever Black

“Hey babe! I’m just around the block. You craving for anything?”

Do We Really Know Love? Or Just The Definition Of Our Love

“And it dawned on me that I had not designed the questionnaire to find a woman I could accept but to find someone who might accept me.” – Don Tillman

So recently, I finally finished “The Rosie Project” that was sitting on my reading list for quite some time. And to be honest, The Rosie Project was a lot of fun to read. As quoted by San Francisco Chronicle,

“Sometimes you just need a smart love story that will make anyone, man or women, laugh out loud.” Continue reading “Do We Really Know Love? Or Just The Definition Of Our Love”

Jane Austen, Her Romance and My Love

“A good marriage isn’t something you find; it’s something you make, and you have to keep on making it.”
– Gary Thomas

I am a romantic. I like romantic movies, love songs, romance books, well, you get the idea. Don’t get me wrong—you are not going to find me with a Harlequin romance or a “Bodice-Ripper” on my morning commute. I will, if under duress, admit to reading 50 Shades of Gray on the subway but found that to be neither a convincing romance nor all that sexy. Continue reading “Jane Austen, Her Romance and My Love”

Worthiness Doesn’t Matter If You’re Willing

“没有值不值得,只有愿不愿意” – 林月如《仙剑奇侠传》

A few days ago, I chanced upon a Chinese article from the RPG Game/Television series 《仙剑奇侠传》, or better known as 《Chinese Paladin》 for its western audience. I was feeling all kinds of nostalgia as it was one of my first Chinese television series that I truly enjoyed back when I was around twelve. Anyways, I was reading this short excerpt when I saw a phrase and it kind of hit me hard, like those sudden moments akin to receiving enlightenment.
